Written after a phone conversation with a friend. We were discussing Maori Pounamu trails through the Southern Alps. My friend knew a lot more than I did on the subject. We talked of particular places Maori know that are close to the Spirit World… After the phone conversation as I lay in bed drifting toward sleep the Self spoke: ‘Channels Exist.’ I took the theme ‘Channels Exist’ & followed the shape & flow of the unfolding poem.
