Whakapapa: this poem rises out of one of my most significant dreams: “I was in space looking down on the earth. ‘Something’ had brought me here. ‘It’ then gave me a double icon. The icon had two sides & was hinged in the middle. On the icon were; mountains, seas & forests: all of Nature. A voice then said: ‘I am Creation not Creator.’ I woke stunned.” The words ‘I am Creation not Creator’ tell me Creation is a Living Being: a Vast Intelligence. This ‘Vast Intelligence’ is capable of communicating itself to people who take their dreams & their sensual/intuitive experiences of Nature seriously. The Self’s words helped heal a split in my old world-view where ‘God the Creator’ was experienced as being within, yet somehow separate from, ‘Creation.’ There is no Creator separate from Creation. There is One Intelligence. The dream reminds me; all of Creation is an icon. When we look at the face of a ladybird, an albatross, a tiger, a deep sea cod or another human being; we are gazing at a face of the Divine. Surely this has huge implications for the way we approach & treat Nature (including one another). ‘It’s a vast intelligence’ is a saying of the Self (13/6/13)
