Closing
Closing
Closing comes and closing goes
& onward as beginnings flow
The waters of our ancient land
Are teachers where we make our stand
They bubble up as noun and verb
& by the listeners soon are heard
They rise from caverns dark and deep
Where tiny creatures crawl and creep
The natural world, She has her say
She is our night, She is our day
So choose the dawn of risen love
Where tui sings from branch above
& let the ancient voices guide
& from their bubblings do not hide
Yes, trust each dark and hidden thing
That makes the heart a golden ring
